Julie Pedrick
Studio Director & Pilates Teacher
Who am I?
Hello, I'm Julie, founder of BodySong Wellness Studio.
For over 23 years I've been helping people move with greater ease, reduce pain, build strength and rediscover confidence through Pilates.
I believe Pilates should be welcoming, supportive and enjoyable. Whether you're joining your very first class or have years of experience, my aim is to help you move with confidence, feel stronger and enjoy everything Pilates has to offer.
Creating a calm, friendly environment where people feel supported, challenged at the right level and leave the studio smiling is at the heart of everything I do.
My Approach
I believe the best results come from small classes, individual attention and consistent practice. My teaching style is encouraging, supportive and adaptable, helping every client progress at their own pace while enjoying the many physical and mental benefits that Pilates has to offer.
My Journey
My journey with Pilates began at the age of 14, when a lower back injury threatened my dance training. Pilates changed the way I exercised forever and ultimately inspired the career I enjoy today.
I originally trained at The Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance and went on to work as a professional dancer and choreographer throughout Europe for eight years.
I qualified as a Pilates teacher in 2002 after training with Polestar Pilates UK and The Pilates Institute. I then spent more than 14 years as Pilates and Contemporary Dance Teacher and Rehabilitation Leader at Tring Park School for the Performing Arts, working closely with the Physiotherapy Department to support dancers through rehabilitation.
As a lifelong learner, I continue to invest in my professional development and have also mentored Pilates teachers for Polestar Pilates UK, as well as supporting trainee instructors through mentoring and practical teaching experience.
I enjoy working alongside other healthcare professionals and welcome referrals from Doctors, Physiotherapists and other practitioners.
Professional Qualifications & Continuing Education
I believe that learning never stops. Throughout my career I have continued to invest in professional development, regularly attending specialist training courses to ensure my teaching reflects the latest knowledge and best practice.

Testimonials
Absolutely outstanding Pilates instructor. I won’t go to anyone else!

As an Osteopath, I frequently see patients who have been in pain and recovered and would benefit from high quality Pilates instruction with an instructor who understands how to tailor their exercises to their needs. Julie is a thorough and knowledgeable Pilates instructor, who goes above and beyond industry requirements in training and continuous education to provide the very best for her participants. I would recommend anyone thinking of trying Pilates to contact Julie to see how she may be able to help them.
Susie Burgess - Osteopath
Julie is the most wonderful teacher of Pilates.
She is so patient with me ,a total novice at this and at 69 years old certainly not the fittest and most flexible student !! She encourages me enormously and I feel so much better after just four of her classes I would recommend her to anyone who feels that it is never too late to improve your health and wellbeing.

There's never a feeling of "one size fits all" in Julie's group classes. Not only does Julie quickly learn and remember everyone's name she knows all our individual bodies to the tiniest detail, what we need to work on, how we might cheat(!), when we could push ourselves a little harder but also when we need to adapt or just be kind to ourselves. And if that isn't enough it's always worth coming to class for Julie's extraordinary imagery: dipping toes into puddles, wearing tiaras, manoeuvring arms into and out of tight sleeping bags (??)........ I could go on!!......but they're fun and they work!! Bottom line: I always feel better going out than coming into class. I have been attending Julie's classes for the last 5 years!

I’ve always enjoyed Pilates and had numerous teachers over the year. Julie, however, is by far the best. Her passion is infectious and her desire to understand how the body works impressive. My respect for her abilities and knowledge has grown tenfold in the past 8 weeks. I started suffering with severe back and leg pain around February. Following an MRI and diagnosis of a slipped disc I was signed off work and unable to move, much less exercise. Julie encouraged me to come for some sessions and gave me some simple exercises after assessing me. I followed them and was able to join the gentle class after three weeks. I’m now back in my regular class where Julie successfully adapts every exercise for every client in her class. I have no idea how she remembers everybody's individual needs but she does. She is an absolute professional and always striving to learn more and more. I would highly recommend Julie to anyone who wants to improve their posture and strengthen their core.

Julie is a fantastic Pilates instructor who clearly is passionate about what she does. She brings a wealth of knowledge to every session and takes the time to understand her clients, adapting exercises to suit our individual needs and limitations. She also runs regular workshops that focus on specific areas, which are always enjoyable and highly beneficial. I would go to them all if I could!

Julie's expertise at today's Bodyrolling Workshop is second to none. She comes highly recommended.
Every client is treated as an individual and the exercises tailored to suit.
Relaxing atmosphere in the purpose built studio. Thank you, looking forward to the next one!

Julie is an exceptional person and pilates teacher. The variety of classes and the thoroughness of her attention throughout the session, checking on your form and ensuring you are getting the benefit of every movement is incredible. We started with Julie on a couple of 121s, knowing nothing about it and due to us both having injuries. Julie adapts exercises for us and we have grown in confidence and strength. Thank Julie, you are a star!

Julie has helped me to stay mobile for many years now. When I was first referred to her I had prolapsed discs and she was very professional in helping me without allowing me to undertake any movements that could cause further damage.
Julie is able to tailor the the classes to suit many abilities and fitness levels. I wouldn't go anywhere else.
